As we know that like charges repel each other. Therefore if two objects having the same charges are brought close they will repel each other. For Example when two ebonite rods having same charges are brought close to each other they repel each other as shown in figure below.


Since the unlike charges attract each other. Therefore if two objects having different charges are brought close they will attract each other. For Example When an Ebonite rod and glass rod
