In figure 5.33 ∠1 = 60° and ∠6 =120°. Show that m and n are parallel.

Given:


∠1 = 60° and ∠6 =120°


Theory:


If a transverse intersecting 2 lines and alternate angles forms are thus equal then 2 lines are parallel


As the transverse is a straight line


∠ 1 + ∠ 4 = 180°


60° + ∠ 4 = 180°


∠ 4 = 180° - 60° = 120°


∠ 6 = 120°


As 2 lines m and n intersected by a transverse and ∠ 4 and ∠ 6 are alternate angles


As ∠ 4 = ∠ 6


2 lines m and n are parallel
