In figure 5.33 1 = 60° and 6 =120°. Show that m and n are parallel.

Given:


1 = 60° and 6 =120°


Theory:


If a transverse intersecting 2 lines and alternate angles forms are thus equal then 2 lines are parallel


As the transverse is a straight line


1 + 4 = 180°


60° + 4 = 180°


4 = 180° - 60° = 120°


6 = 120°


As 2 lines m and n intersected by a transverse and 4 and 6 are alternate angles


As 4 = 6


2 lines m and n are parallel
