Does black soil undergo leaching?

1. Leaching is the process of draining away of nutrients and minerals from the soil.

2. The constituents of black soil are clayey materials. It also contains iron oxide, lime and magnesium carbonates in a small amount.

3. Due to the presence of the clayey materials, the black soil is wet and sticky in nature. It is therefore very difficult to wash off nutrients from the black soil. Thus, black soil does not undergo leaching.
