What efforts are made by the government to modernise agriculture?

The Government of India has made significant efforts to modernise agriculture practice in India.

1. Establishment of universities and institutions- Government has established Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), agriculture universities, animal breeding centres etc. to provide a platform for research and development in various fields related to agriculture.

2. Rural infrastructure- Government has focused on the development of rural infrastructure to modernize agriculture.

3. The government introduced various crop insurance schemes for the farmers to protect them against the losses of crop failure caused by natural calamities like flood, drought etc.
