Write zeros of the polynomial x2 + 2x + 1.

Zeroes of polynomial means for what value of x the equation becomes 0


Hence equate polynomial to 0 to get the value of x


⇒ x2 + 2x + 1 = 0


⇒ x2 + 2(1)(x) + 12 = 0


Using (a + b)2 = a2 + 2ab + b2


⇒ (x + 1)2 = 0


⇒ x = –1


Hence both the zeroes of quadratic polynomial are same that is x = –1
