List any six characteristics of parenchyma tissue.

Parenchyma is a type of simple permanent tissue which has basic origin structure and function. Parenchyma are the most commonly found cells in plants & they are present all over the plant body.

Their characteristics as follows-


• They are living tissues


• They may have different shapes like spherical, oval, rectangular, polygonal, etc.


• They form packing tissue, and their cell walls are thin


• They are found in muscular tissues.


• These cells also store the food material.


• Young parenchymatous cells are freely bounded.
