Why do you think untouchability is a social evil?

The reasons for considering untouchability as a social evil are:

• The backward class people are not treated equally and are denied of their Fundamental Rights.


• Untouchability does not offer equal opportunity to these people and thus hinders the progress of society.


• The untouchables are treated in an unfair manner and many times their entry at certain places like temples, etc. are also denied.


• Treating them in such a way is a disrespect towards the Constitution which focusses on communal harmony and brotherhood.
