Why are well-developed soils found mostly in low latitudes?

Well-developed soils are generally seen in the low latitudes because:

1. Rivers that flow via the mountains carry minerals and silt along with them and deposit this in the lower latitudes, making it productive.

2. The climate, the temperature is favorable for various chemical reactions leading to soil formation.

3. Lower latitudes have high rainfalls and higher temperatures, favoring weathering.

4. The higher latitudes are generally sloped and hence have a fragile layer of soil while the rest gets washed down.
