Why is agriculture important occupation throughout the world?

1. Agriculture is often regarded as the backbone of the Indian economy and is one of the most critical occupations all over the world. Agriculture constitutes of the primary sector of the economy.

2. One cannot go by without food and to cook food you need food grains. These food grains are produced by the farmers and a year of bad harvest could result in huge famines and large-scale deaths.

3. Raw materials for production and processing are obtained from agriculture, for e.g., cotton is grown by farmers who are further processed into clothes, bed sheets, etc.

4. Agriculture also provides food for cattle, from whom dairy products are extracted.

5. In simple terms, Agriculture fulfills the basic human necessities and hence is very vital.
