The First World War turned out to be a boon in disguise for the Indian industries. Justify the statement with suitable arguments.

The first world war turned out to be a boon for the Indian industries because-

1. Earlier, factories were set up in Britain, the raw materials for which were sourced from India. However, with the advent of World War I, British factories were busy preparing ammunition. As a result, factories were set up India.

2. Mill imports from Britain declined, and Indian industries grew at an astounding rate.

3. Clothing and daily provision industries came up quickly due to the British lack of industries and their preoccupation with manufacturing weapons.

4. Transport facilities became advanced, and goods could now be transported to the remotest of places.

Thus, the first World War was, in a way, profitable for the Indian industries.
