Q6 of 16 Page 82

Why were children prevented from reading novels?

Children were prevented from reading novels because-

1. Novels can trigger a child’s imagination due to which they could deviate from the reality of the world.

2. It was dreaded that kids would abandon regular lifestyles and become insurgents.

3. The children would become dissolutely influenced and become corrupt.

Hence, stringent measures were taken to prevent children from reading novels.
