Find the degree of the following polynomials:

(i) P(x) = x77 – 20x23 + 100


(ii) P(m) = 22m2 – 900m4 – m6

(i) P(x) = x77 – 20x23 + 100


In the given polynomial, the highest power is 77 in x77


Therefore, 77 is the degree of the polynomial

In the given polynomial, the highest power is 6 in –m6


Therefore, 6 is the degree of the polynomial.
