Find a quadratic polynomial each with the given numbers as the sum and product of its zeroes respectively.

To find: Quadratic polynomial


Given: Sum of the zeroes of the polynomial = –2


The product of the zeroes of the polynomial = √2


Concept Used:


The quadratic polynomial is given by:


P(x) = x2 – (Sum of the zeroes)x + (Product of the zeroes)


Explanation:


Putting the values in p(x) we get,


P(x) = x2 – (–2)x + √2


P(x) = x2 + 2x + √2
