Proof: Since,

ΔABC and ABD are on the same base AB and between the same parallels AB and DC.

Therefore,

Area (Δ ABC) = Area (Δ ABD)

Area (Δ ABC) – Area (Δ AOB) = Area (ΔABD) – Area (Δ AOB)

Area (Δ AOD) = Area (Δ BOC)
