(ii) How many lamps have a lifetime of more than 700 hours?

Given: Data of lifetimes of 400 neon lamps.


Concept Used:


Histogram: a diagram consisting of rectangles whose area is proportional to the frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval.


Explanation:


(i) The above-given information is represented with the help of histogram below:



(ii) We will count the lamps with a lifetime of more than 700 hours.


We can see from the histogram; we have to add lamps which have a life times of (700 – 800), (800 – 900), and (900 – 1000)


74 + 62 + 48 = 184


Hence, 184 lamps have a lifetime of more than 700 hours.
