Examine the ill effects of industrialization and urbanization on water resources.

Industrialisation and urbanization have aggravated water scarcity in the foll. ways:

(a) Large industrial houses are exerting pressure on existing freshwater resources.


(b) Industries, apart from being heavy users of water, also require power to run them.


(c) Multiplying urban centres with large and dense population and urban lifestyles have not only added to water and energy requirements but further aggravated the problem. Water resources are being over-exploited.
