Q28 of 66 Page 15

Two dice are rolled together. Find the probability of getting such numbers on the two dice whose product is 12.[CBSE 2013]

Total numbers of elementary events are: 6x6 = 36

Let E be the elementary event of getting numbers on the two dice whose product is 12

The favourable outcomes are: (2, 6), (3, 4), (4, 3), (6, 2)

Then, the numbers of favourable outcomes = 4

P (numbers on the two dice whose product is 12) = P (E) = 4/36 = 1/9
