Explain any three characteristics of clustered rural settlements of India.

The clustered rural settlement is a place where many families live in the same area.


The following are some of the characteristics of clustered rural settlement:


a. In the clustered settlement the houses are built very close to each other.


b. The residential houses are well distinguished from the farms, pastures, barns etc.,


c. The houses are built in some specific geometrical patterns such as a rectangle, square etc.,


d. Clustered rural settlements can be found in the northeastern states.


Rajasthan also has clustered rural settlements as there is water scarcity in the state.
