The Impact of nature on the quality of human life

Human life is deeply intertwined with nature. All that human beings find essential for survival is sourced from nature. Therefore, the natural world has the capacity to make human life extremely comfortable and peaceful. Besides providing for food, water and raw materials, it provides human beings an alternate way of life, that is peaceful and undisturbed. The diversity of flora and fauna, different geological formations and the beautiful night sky are some features of nature that beautify the world and bring quiet and calmness to human life, which is often fraught with speed. However, nature while being bountiful also has the capacity to overturn and destroy humanity. In Seamus Heaney’s At a Potato Digging, the glimpse of natural disaster by way of famine shows how nature too can be very unpredictable. Therefore, in looking at the impact of nature on humanity, it can be seen that while nature can be very bountiful, it can harm humanity as well, and therefore humans should do all in their capacity to not upset the balanced cycles of nature. Nature responds to the kind of behavior it receives.
