The playwright titled the play ‘Never Never Nest’ in such a way to point the new trend of buying so many household items and houses in installments which is very popular nowadays among the young middle-class couple. The play also revolves around a young couple Jack and Jill who had the tendency to buy things beyond their capacity. Jack’s weekly income was 6 pounds whereas his weekly installments were 7 pounds. The title suggests the fact that such couples tend to purchase all luxuries and dream of building a nest which is never completely owned by them and never settle happily. There is a comparison between the nest made by birds and the one made by Jack and Jill. The bird’s nest is made up of various things that it collects from around, free of cost and similarly Jack and Jill’s nest comprised of things they acquired on installments not owned by them. All their luxuries including their house, their child, car, radio and furniture was not owned by them.
