The world population has grown very rapidly. Why?

Population growth is the result of the difference between birth rate and death rate in the world. Owing to science and technology, birth rate has remained high in the world. Increase in food production, improvement of medical facilities has decreased the death rate. Thus, the world population has grown very rapidly.
