Q1 of 28 Page 3

What is a constituency?

The election of Lok Sabha is held once in five years. The country is divided into different constituencies and from these constituencies, one person is elected to the Parliament. Thus, the constituency is the location where the election has to be held and the voters of that area elect their own representatives who will represent them in the Parliament.

These elected candidates belong to the different political parties and participate in the elections, after winning the elections they become the Members of Parliament or MPs.
