What are the ways in which people express approval and disapproval of actions of government?

The principle of Democracy allows people to choose their own representatives. This promotes the idea of consent or the approval by the people of the country. The rule of the democratic government and its functioning is dependent on the decision of the people. In Democracy, the citizen of the country is considered to be the most important person and it the responsibility of the government and the public institutions to cater to the needs of the people and gain their trust.

When people participate in the election and cast their valuable vote to choose their representative is the way they express their approval of the actions of the government. The elected representatives of the winning political party form the government. They together in the Parliament, controls and guides the government. This way they approve of the government if they don’t participate in the elections which happens once in 5 years, it is the disapproval by the people towards the actions of the government.
