Which areas do the member of Legislative council represent?

The Legislative Council, also known as Vidhan Parishad has members who represent 5 areas. Some of the members are nominated by the Governor, some are elected by members of the Legislative Assembly, Teachers in the state, Graduates, and Local Authorities. The members nominated by the Governor have special knowledge, practical skills and experience in a particular field or discipline like art, literature, science, social service etc.
