Let the capacity of vessel be 12 units.


Fruit juice in first vessel


= 4 units


Water in first vessel = 12 – 4 = 8 units


Fruit juice in second vessel


= 3 units


Water in second vessel = 12 – 3 = 9 units


Total fruit juice = 4 + 3 = 7 units


Total water = 8 +9 = 17 units


Fruit juice: Water = 7: 17
