What are the three stages of resource planning? Describe it.

Resource planning is a process of managing and using resources in a proper way. It is a technique of proper utilisation of resources. There is a wide diversity of resources in India. It is distributed unevenly and it is also limited. There are regions which are rich in certain types of resources but are deficient in other resources. So there need to be proper planning for managing the resources. Resource planning is a complex process.

Three stages of resource planning are:


*First stage of resource planning is the identification and inventory of resources. This includes surveying, mapping and measurement of characteristics and properties of resources.


*Second stage of resource development is evaluated in terms of availability for development. This means resources are examined from the points of view of technology, economy and need.


*Third stages of resource development are orienting planning which emphasises the use and reuse of the resources.
