Write physical and human factors which determine the use of land.

Land use involves management of natural environment.

Physical factors which determine the use of land are:

*Soil: Different crops require different types of soil. Example black soil is responsible for the growth of cotton.

*Temperature: It is the main factor which affects the land. High-temperature area and low-temperature area are not suitable for cultivation.

*Rainfall: Different crops and vegetation required a different amount of rainfall. Example rice requires more than 100cm rainfall.

Human factors which determine the use of land are:

*Population density: It is one of the human factors determining the use of land. High-density areas put more pressure on land whereas low-density areas put low pressure on land.

*Cultural Values: Land is also used for different cultural value. People with different cultural values use the land for different purposes.

*Availability of technology: Advancement of technology is responsible for the productivity of the land. Example of technology is a high yielding variety of seeds, irrigation facilities.
