Give reasons why women still lag behind men in India.

i. Patriarchy: is a concept used to refer to a system that values men more and gives them power over women.

ii. Low literacy rate: The literacy rate among women is only 54 per cent as compared to 76 per cent among men. Even girls have more dropout rate as parents prefer to spend their resources on their boys' education rather than spending equally on their sons and daughters.
