The party that loses the election is called the opposition party. It is important for democracy in the following ways:

b. It helps to provide constructive criticism of the ruling government.


c. It helps to formulate new policies pf the government.


d. It helps to safeguard the rights of the people and is an expression of public opinion.


e. It checks into financial malpractices of the ruling party and helps to expose the scams.
