Define the concept of sustainable development.

Sustainable development is a process of development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In other words, it can be said that sustainable development is the process which ensures that all the resources of this planet are not completely exploited by the present generations only. It ensures that the present generations use the resources in such an efficient manner that these same resources can be used by their future generations, some fifty to hundred years later.
