Explain the three components of population change in the world. Also, analyse the impacts of population change.

The three components of population change are as follows:-

• Birth rate- No. Of live births per thousand a particular population. In less developing countries, the birth rate is quite high. Birth Rate is controlled by proper family planning. Birth rate increases the density of population.

• Death Rate- No. Of deaths in a particular population. It is not too high normally but becomes quite high during some epidemic or natural disasters or food scarcity. The death rate is controlled by proper Medicare. It decreases the density of the population.

• Migration- Migration is process in which people move from one place (Source of Origin) to another place (Source of Destination) because of several factors that affect their lifestyle. The push and pull factors influence migration. It is a spontaneous effort to achieve a better balance between population and resources.

Impact of population change is as follows-

A small increase in population is good for a growing economy. But if the population becomes too much, then there will be a depletion of resources as well as employment facilities. Population decline is also a matter of concern. It shows that the resources that had supported a population earlier are now insufficient to maintain the population. Sometimes deadly diseases like AIDS step up the mortality rate and slow down the population growth.
