Name the reagents used in following reactions :

(i)


(ii) CH3-COOH ClCH2COOH


(i) in this we are converting a ketone to tert alcohol. So we will use Grignard reagent CH3MgBr in presence of dry ether. Which will result in adduct formation which on further hydrolysis will give tert butanol.


(ii) In this we are converting an alpha hydrogen with halogen so we will use Cl2 in presence of Red phosphorus. This reaction is known as hell-vollhard-zellenski reaction.
