Define the term pollination. Differentiate between self pollination and cross pollination. What is the significance of pollination?

Pollination is the process in which transfer of Pollen grains from the anther of the flower to the stigma of the same/another flower takes place.


Significance of Pollination -


The significance of Pollination is to bring the male gametes near the female reproductive part (Pistil) so as to facilitate meeting of male and female gametes and this will result in fertilization, with Seed as the final product of sexual reproduction in plants.
