How is the wall of the small intestine adapted for performing the function of absorption of food?

Out of a goat and a tiger, which one will have a longer small intestine? Justify your answer.


The inner lining of the small intestine has numerous finger-like projections called villi which increase the surface area for absorption of the digested food.


OR


Goat because herbivores eating grass need a longer small intestine to allow a complex carbohydrate like cellulose to be digested. Whereas a carnivore such as Tiger eats meat that is easier to digest, hence has a smaller small intestine.
