Give two examples of gaseous air pollutants.

(a) Carbon monoxide: Carbon monoxide is toxic in nature. On breathing in large amounts of it, it can even lead to death.


(b) Sulphur dioxide: Sulphur dioxide is one of the main constituents of acid rain. These gases also lead to greenhouse effect which in turn contributes to global warming.
