What is a recognised political party?

A recognised political party is one that is registered with the Election Commission of India as a state or national party, each satisfying a set of terms and conditions respectively.

NOTE – A political party is simply referred to as a group of people sharing common beliefs, ideology, and values who come together to contest elections in order to form a government at the various levels (state, national, district or grass root level) in a democracy.
