What is standardization of products? Mention any two organizations responsible for the standardization of products in India.

1. Standardization of products or services is done by the government agencies of India to ensure the quality of a product for the assurance of the consumer while buying goods and services.

2. These organizations that monitor and issue these certificates allow producers to use logos of their respective organization if they follow certain quality maintenance standards.


3. The organizations responsible for the standardization of products in India include the Bureau of Indian Standards that provides ISI for industrial products and Hallmark for jewellery and the Ministry of Agriculture that provides Agmark for food items.


NOTE – Standardization of products is necessary to ensure the quality of a product. This is specifically done for the awareness and protection of the consumers in the market chain.
