Differentiate between ferrous and non-ferrous minerals with examples.

Difference between ferrous and non-ferrous minerals:

1. Ferrous minerals have iron in it while non-ferrous do not.


2. Ferrous minerals are magnetic in nature while non-ferrous are not


3. Example of ferrous: Nickel, Manganese


Example of non-ferrous: Lead, Copper


Explanation: Both ferrous and non-ferrous minerals come under the category of metallic minerals. Ferrous minerals account for three-fourth of the value of metallic minerals’ production.
