Why do pressure groups employ lobbyist?

Pressure groups employ lobbyist to generate support for their needs and concerns regarding a particular issue which further helps to influence the process of decision making in a democracy.

NOTE – Pressure Groups – Pressure groups are organisations that tend to influence the policies of the government and therefore act as a check on the functioning of the government.


Lobbyist – A lobbyist is a person (activist) who tends to influence the members of the government or the decision makers in his/her favour.
