A report on World Environment Day

By Karuna Kumar

Grade XII B

This year on 5th June, my school Sunrise Public School, Gurugram actively celebrated the World Environment Day. The teachers, students and other staffs wore green colour clothes. The junior school had organised street dramas, debates and poster competitions to commemorate the day. The senior school engaged in field work spreading awareness. The students were divided into batches. One batch visited the local roadside stretch and planted saplings. Another batch, visited the neighbourhood houses to discuss easy anti-pollution measures in our daily lives. The third batch set out to collect plastic carry bags from households to prevent further toxic pollution. The last and fourth batch raised funds by games and food corners in the school’s premises. The fund is going to be used for installing an eco-friendly compost manufacturing plant behind the school compound. World Environment Day was full of activities and excitement.

Respected Principal and teachers.

My dear friends.

Good morning and Happy International Museum Day!

Not many of you must know that every year, from 1977 onwards, 18th May all over the world is celebrated as International Museum Day. It’s a glorious day indeed. Without museums our historical, geographical and archaeological remains would go unnoticed. It is we, the students who benefit maximum from museums. From ancient paintings to pre historic gigantic animal skeletons, a museum has so much in store for visitors and learners. Today, on this memorable day, we should pledge to maintain the existing museums in our world. Next time when you visit a museum, be careful not to spoil the walls, staircase, glass showcase. Instead, we should care for them and forbid anyone we see doing wrong. Also, it’s a good idea to visit museum in our city rather than catching a movie or visiting a mall. It will be an enriching experience.

Thank you.
