Sand castle

Ali, Jasmine, Anu, and Varun were making a list of the items they needed to pack for Sunday’s beach picnic. Their school’s final examination had just finished and they had made this wonderful plan.

Sunday turned out to be a pleasant day with a soft cool breeze. The picnic goers were colourfully dresses and very excited. While Ali and Jasmine were parking all their bicycles at the nearby shack, Anu and Varun were mounting the beach umbrella on the warm sand. Suddenly, the sobbing of a child caught their attention. A little girl, all by herself was crying. Unable to control her curiosity, Anu ran towards the sobbing girl. It was revealed that her sand castle had been washed away by the sea waves, her sand tool kit was missing and her father had gone looking for the kit. By now, Ali, Jasmine, and Varun had joined Anu. Together, they consoled the girl, cleaned her up and gave her a toffee. Just then, a man came running with a yellow sand tool kit and the gang of friends knew it was the girl’s father. Together, they all rebuilt the sand castle making sure the waves didn’t touch it. The girl was clapping with happiness and hugged her father. When Anu first saw the crying girl, she feared something had gone terribly wrong.

Ali, Jasmine, Anu, and Varun had an unexpected start to their picnic. They were glad to help the little girl. The girl’s father thanked them. He bought them colas and potato wafers.
