Q10 of 29 Page 1

No sinful action can ever go without its consequences. What consequences does the Ancient Mariner have to face as a result of his sinful action?

The Mariner’s killing of the Albatross brought bad-luck to the ship and the crew. Storms gathered the abundance of the sea disappeared, their ship got stuck in the silent sea, bringing in all sorts of miseries. The silence was spread all around and it was occasionally broken by the sailor’s voices. Their throats were dried and tongues got ‘withered at the root.’ There was water everywhere but not a drop to drink. Thus it is clear that no sinful action can ever go without its consequences.
