Report on Midday Meal Scheme — How to improve it

The government of Tamil Nadu has started a program aiming towards the improvement of nutritional status of kids throughout the country. It was a noble step towards the enrichment of health and to reduce absenteeism and to increase enrolment in the schools. It started to improve the nutritional status of the students and enriching their lives but now-a-days it has become a threat to kids due to prevalent corruption in the country. The recent death of 23 children at a school in Bihar is a proof the lack of management in the schools. It has affected the mindsets of parents deeply. To prevent such situations, the food distribution must need to be paid much attention. Parents should participate in the cooking of food and there must be regular visits by government officials to the kitchens were food for kids is being cooked. Only that way we can make this scheme a successful one.
