Find the values of x and y using the information shown in figure 3.37. Find the measure of ∠ABC and ∠ACB.

In ΔABC


Given, AB = AC


Sides of a triangle are Equal then the angles opposite to them are equal.


∠ABC = ∠ACB


∴ x = 50°


So, ∠ABD = 50° + 60° = 110°


In ΔDBC


Given, DB = DC


Sides of a triangle are Equal then the angles opposite to them are equal.


∠DBC = ∠DCB


∴ y = 60°


∠ACD = ∠ACB + ∠BCD


= 50° + 60°


∴ ∠ACD = 110°
