Find the values of x and y using the information shown in figure 3.37. Find the measure of ABC and ACB.

In ΔABC


Given, AB = AC


Sides of a triangle are Equal then the angles opposite to them are equal.


ABC = ACB


x = 50°


So, ABD = 50° + 60° = 110°


In ΔDBC


Given, DB = DC


Sides of a triangle are Equal then the angles opposite to them are equal.


DBC = DCB


y = 60°


ACD = ACB + BCD


= 50° + 60°


ACD = 110°
