Q2 of 23 Page 1

Solve any four sub-questions:

Draw an equilateral ΔABC with side 6.2 cm and construct its circumcircle.

Steps for construction:

Step 1: Draw a line segment BC = 6.2 cm
Step 2: With B as centre and radius of 6.2 cm, draw an arc.
Step 3: With C as centre and radius of 6.2 cm, draw another arc to intersect the previous arc at A.
Step 4: Join AB and AC
Step 5: Therefore we get ABC which is the required equilateral triangle
Step 6: Draw the perpendicular bisector of the sides of the triangle
Step 7: Mark the point of intersection of the perpendicular bisectors as 'O' which is called the circumcentre of the triangle.
Step 8: With 'O' as centre OA or OB or OC as radius, draw a circle passing through A, B and C.
