Q2 of 23 Page 1

Attempt any four sub-questions from the following:

Find the first four terms in an A.P. When a = 10 and d = 3.

Given, a = 10 and d = 3

Let Tn be nth term of A.P.

Tn = a + (n – 1)d

T1 is the first term, T2 is the second term, T3 is the third term and T4 is the fourth term.

T1 = 10 + (1 – 1) × 3 = 10 + 0 × 3

T1 = 10

T2 = 10 + (2 – 1) × 3 = 10 + 1 × 3 = 10 + 3

T2 = 13

T3 = 10 + (3 – 1) × 3 = 10 + 2 × 3 = 10 + 6

T3 = 16

T4 = 10 + (4 – 1) × 3 = 10 + 3 × 3 = 10 + 9

T4 = 19

First four terms of A.P. is 10, 13, 16 and 19.
