The sides forming the right angle of a right angled triangle are 7 cm and 5 cm. Find the length of its hypotenuse.


In ∆ABC, AB = 5cm, BC = 7cm ∠B = 90°


By Pythagoras theorem


AC2 = AB2 + BC2


= (5)2 + (7)2


= 25 + 49


= 74


Hence, AC2 = 74
