(a) Five articles from the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights are:

Article 1: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.

Article 2: Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion etc.

Article 3: Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 4: No one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms.

Article 5: No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

(b) 1. The National Human Rights Commission was established in 1993.

2. It is structured as a six member organization and a Chairperson on board.

3. Prominent judges of the Supreme Court or High Court, with the Chairpersons of the National Commission for Women and National Commission for Minorities, along with two subject experts who have actually worked in the field of protecting Human rights are appointed as its members.

4. It investigates into cases of violation of Human rights anywhere in the country.

5. The State of Maharashtra also has a Human Rights Commission.
