In the given figure ‘O’ is the centre of the circle and AB, CD are equal chords. If AOB = 70°. Find the angles of the ∆OCD.

We know “Angles subtended by equal chords at the center of a circle are equal”.


DOC = AOB = 70


In OCD,


OCD + ODC + DOC = 180


x + x + 70 = 180


700 + 2x = 180


2x = 180-70


2x = 110


x =


x = 55


OCD = ODC = 55
