Q16 of 146 Page 145

Two bodies A and B of equal masses are kept at heights of h and 2h respectively. What will be the ratio of their potential energies?

Potential energy= mgh

Potential energy for object at height, H = mgH (h = H)

Potential energy for object at height, 2H = mg2H (h = 2H)

Hence, mgH/ mg2H = 1/2

So, ratio is 1:2
